PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIESThe Maryland State Arts Council provides opportunities for professional development for elementary and middle school teachers and administrators and artists of all levels and disciplines, and makes information available for those offered by arts and education organizations and associations in communities throughout the state. MSAC programs include the Maryland Artist/Teacher Institute (MATI), an intensive program of professional development for elementary and middle school teachers and administrators, conducted by master teachers, artists, and artist-educators, and the Teaching Artist Institute (TAI), a comprehensive professional development program for teaching artists in Maryland that builds artists’ capacity to contribute to student learning in and through the arts. Periodically, MSAC will post announcements about workshops, seminars, lectures, and conferences geared toward professional development for both teachers and artists. Check this site regularly for new opportunities. Contact: Christine Stewart, Program Director, 410-767-6476
