About the Artist
Abigail McBride is an American Impressionst oil painter and portrait artist. Her work is grounded in the present as a contemporary interpretation of genre painting born of a humble appreciation for beauty found in everyday life. While a consummate Cape School colorist, the draftsmanship in her work is born of an academic interest in the portrait and figure. These technical concerns are the support and language for sharing her specific vision.Artist's Statement

Intense summer light both consumes and reveals a colorful arrangement. A bright orange tablecloth bounces into and through the objects creating unexpected shapes and color harmonies. In fact everything is bouncing and reflecting all over the place. Good times.

A Self Portrait. Here is my take on the bather theme. It's a sneak peak at an utterly ordinary moment for our family. But at the same time it has an extraordinary amount of meaning for us as we recognize this fleeting time with our young children. It's an investigation into privacy, identity and the passage of time.
