Adira Riben

About the Artist

Adira Riben Jenner (born 1979, Old Bridge, New Jersey) makes drawings and paintings to evoke a sense of joy and appreciation of the small things life has to offer.  Frogs leap across the page, farm animals seem to flirt with the viewer, and flowers – scaled up many times – blossom in rich colors.  Even everyday objects are imparted with a technicolor hopefulness.  Often drawing and painting directly onto discarded items, the piece becomes a message of transformation on a tangible level.  Her work is informed in equal parts by her education in the natural sciences (she studied Environmental Engineering at Rutgers University and later taught Environmental Education in Delaware), and a lifelong love of art. She has taught creative arts journaling, nature journaling and art for a variety of ages and loves to share the art-making process with others.
