About the Artist
Anna Child (b. South Carolina) is a Baltimore based artist whose abstract painting process is rooted in doubt and not knowing. She studied at the New York Studio School and the Maryland Institute College of Art and was a Penland School of Craft Core Fellow. Since 2024, her work has been supported by multiple Maryland State Arts Council grants, a Bethesda Painting Award, and residencies at Woodstock Byrdcliffe, Vermont Studio Center, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Chalk Hill, and Jentel. Her artwork has recently been exhibited in Seattle, WA, Glen Echo, MD, Woodstock, NY, Healdsburg, CA, and Bethesda, MD. A suite of her monotypes printed by Phil Sanders will be published this year by Phil Sanders, PS Marlowe. In 2026 she will return to Vermont Studio Center as a Vermont Studio Center Fellow.Featured Work
