About the Artist

Archa Malhotra was born and raised in India and moved to the United States to pursue higher education. Growing up, she always had a keen interest in art and design which led her to earn professional degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture. After working for several years in the architectural design and construction management industry, she opened her home studio to delve into her passion for art. She loves making abstract paintings. Acrylics is her preferred medium, but she enjoys creating mixed media pieces using pen, ink, markers and pastels. She has showcased her work at several juried art shows in California, Maryland, Virginia & Washington DC.

Artist's Statement

My work is inspired by the gorgeous color combinations found in nature. My process is intuitive and each piece is painted in several layers to weave together a range of colors. I use a combination of organic as well as somewhat geometric forms to add interest to my pieces. The intent is to express and evoke contentment, peace and joy.
