About the Artist

Bexter Richardson, “Bex” for short, is a Liberian-American singer, songwriter, audio engineer, and entrepreneur based in Baltimore and the DMV area. The multi-cultural experience from his background has created and contextualized his interests in international music, specifically music from the Afrobeats, Hip Hop and R&B genres. Bex is the founder of Fourscore Technologies, an IT startup that focuses on cybersecurity, cloud and network engineering in the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area. He is also the founder of LiBx Records International, a small indie label with a big vision that fuses Afrobeats with other international genres. As an indie artist himself, Bex is dedicated to the growth and success of the indie community. In 2020, Bex founded the LiBx Records Foundation, a non-profit that seeks out talented youths living in the streets and ghettos helping them transition to better living conditions through rehabilitation, education and mentorship. Bex currently resides in Maryland, his home- state, where he continues to run various projects ranging from music, IT, and other non-profit programs.

Artist's Statement

Identity Afrobeats, Hip Hop and R&B Music - As a native of West Africa, the influence of Afrobeats, as trending in West and Sub-Sahara Africa, give identity to the style. - The Hip Hop and R&B culture continue to also form a strong part of the musical identity since Bex grew up and lived in a few states like Maryland in the DMV and Nashville in the southern United States. Vision Fused Contents - The vision is not just to ensure the fusion of Afrobeats and other international genres but to also play an influential role in the Afrobeats movement in the U.S., especially as the industry continues to embrace and features this style of music. Intention Enrich Culture - The intention is to create contents that mix the Afrobeats flavors with other international genres, specifically, Hip Hop and R&B. And, in so doing, enrich our American music and culture.
