“Your show was wonderful! It’s inspiring how you weave together comedy & awareness about ADHD. The way you share your experiences & how variability in attention regulation can take you down some interesting & creative rabbit holes makes your message both refreshing & destigmatizing. Your work is really wonderful! We need more brave people like you.”
— Dr. Melissa Dvorsky, Asst. Prof. of Psychology & Behavioral Health, Dir. of the ADHD & Learning Differences Children’s National Hospital, Washington, DC

About the Artist

Blaire Postman is an unexpected, high-energy, Gen X comedian with no chill. She’s been featured by Slate Magazine, PBS NewsHour, fancy comedy festivals, and nationally renowned podcasts; headlines indie comedy clubs around the country; and features for top headliners at premier comedy venues.  In the stand-up comedy world, Blaire’s best known for her deep-dive “rabbit hole” bits- such as “The History of Super Bowl Halftime Shows” - as well as for jokes featuring her strongly held opinions about things most people don’t realize they care about…until she points them out. Blaire’s part-stand-up/part-TED-Talk solo show - “LADY ADHD” tours her neurodivergent mind, combining her signature high-energy, flip chart stand-up comedy pieces with running commentary about life with long-undiagnosed ADHD, and lessons learned where they intersect. As one reviewer noted, "Imagine if all the open tabs on your computer from a weekend of spiraling down Wikipedia rabbit holes were woven into a cogent, brutally funny theory about the brain, society, art, Americana and The Self." In 2023, “LADY ADHD” was a finalist in the Yes, And Laughter Lab: a competitive entertainment industry incubation lab, pitch program and showcase that lifts up diverse writers and performers creating new comedy about topics that matter. “LADY ADHD” can be seen at theaters and colleges nationwide, garnering rave reviews everywhere from the 2023 SF Sketchfest to Caveat Theater in New York and upcoming performances at 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Fest. In the waning days of Covid-19 quarantine, Blaire moved to downtown Baltimore - the last remaining affordable city in the northeast United States, which she considers to be the latest New York City bedroom community.  She lives with her husband, three cats, and an array of web domain names for projects she will never launch. “Blaire has a lovely way of explaining what ADHD is… She does this wonderful thing where she gives the audience the FEELING OF WHAT IT’S LIKE TO LIVE WITH AN ADHD BRAIN by walking them through some of the very deep rabbit holes she’s gone down… Thank you for creating ‘LADY ADHD’!” —Daisy Rosario, co-host of SLATE MAGAZINE’s “The Waves”

Artist's Statement

Lady ADHD: Hop on this daring, immersive real-time dopamine chase tracing how Blaire Postman’s unique comedy (fueled by a rollercoaster of down-the-rabbit-hole flip chart comedy bits) first revealed to her the unexpected connections of life’s intricacies, then panned out further to expose the true nature of her own brain. Postman’s neurodivergent superpowers - and their kryptonite - become evident as she spins a frenzied, hilarious web, exposing the order in the chaos of her ADHD mind, and challenging audiences to recognize what’s at stake when we choose to dismiss those who think differently - flipping the script on conversations about neurodiversity.
