About the Artist

I am a life long artist and Marylander. I draw, sculp and oil paint. In April 2018, I submitted a community grant to MSAC for 8 benches by 8 artist to be located on 8 business for the public to enjoy in Historic Stevensville. The project was call 'Benches of the Shore' in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. In June 2019, the project celebrated the complition of this project and installation. We had 14 artists total working on the projects. The eight artists and four supporting artists were paid, minimally, for the efforts. All materials and supplies were paid by this grant. This grant was matched by our sponsors who also contributed extra to the Historic Stevensville Arts and Entertainment District. $1,800 additional monies were added to the District's funds. Hurray for all sponsors, landowners, artists, and Maryland State Arts Council for making this possible and adding beauty and a welcoming place for visitors to rest. I currently am closed down due to COVID-19. I opened my studio, gallery and retail store front, Phaecyn Artworks, for the public to visit and see local Kent Island paintings and photography depicting our beautiful Chesapeake Bay life. I began having paint nights with a crab drawn out and printed on a canvas backerboard for those interested in painting. The diversity of painting concepts and techniques is amazing to see. Creativity is my goal for all to experience. During COVID-19 I have probably painted around 8 to 10 oil paints from 4x4 up to 30x24 of primarily Bay and Shore themes. I  was preparing for the wedding crowds that generally come to the Island. This year is a bummer. I will have a webpage soon.  Cyn
