About the Artist
Every day I work with motivated and positive individuals that break their chains and rise above their self-imposed limitations. I know how hard it is to accomplish goals, that those with family supports may take for granted. It was Archimedes who said, ‘Give me a lever long enough, and a place to stand and I can move the earth.’ My name is Emanuel W. Holley when I was an at-risk youth I received support from loving and caring people along the way. It’s my duty to give back through art and use my voice to speak healing into the world. I believe an individual must be willing to participate in his or her own rescue. Further, I believe it is imperative to change or remain employed in your current situation. Thanks to Ms. Brenda Boyd, I was exposed to the Maryland Institute College of Art Young People's Studio Program at age 13. The program is a great opportunity for youth to develop their talents early. Artistic exploration is among the best ways for kids to build confidence in expressing themselves, learn to solve problems and think critically. Young People's Studios provides a comfortable place where the next great artist can begin to unleash his or her creative energy. Now today I am a full-time mentor, life skills coach, servant leader, and artist. I’m always looking to connect with people who want to change the world with art.
