About the Artist

Jennifer “Jeni” Fairman has had a love of art and a penchant for science all her life. She is a certified medical illustrator and principal artist of her illustration studio, Fairman Studios. Jeni’s metalsmithing and jewelry-making take place at Jeni Elizabeth Jewelry. Constantly inspired by anatomy, science, and nature, Jeni creates pieces that incorporate these subjects. Jeni’s training in metalsmithing started under the instruction of Laurie Savage at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, near Boston, Massachusetts, and continues today at the Baltimore Jewelry Center in Baltimore, Maryland. After many years of experimenting with techniques such as soldering, electroforming, casting, enameling, granulation, die-forming, and etching, she began to create her first production line centered around blossoms and cicadas. She launched her first nature-inspired jewelry line in 2016. Jeni’s work combines what she finds outdoors, including botanical elements, insects, and other curiosa. The materials Jeni uses include silver, nugold, bronze, copper, glass, dried flowers, found objects, old family photos, ephemera, and other precious elements.
