My creativity has many outlets, writing is just one. My creative process nurtures me on a deep level; I cannot imagine a world without art that is diverse, expressive, personal.

About the Artist

Originally from south-central Pennsylvania, I currently reside in Hagerstown, Maryland. For more than 20 years, I worked in the communications field as graphic artist and design editor at a newspaper, then writer and managing editor of several corporate in-house magazines. In 2012, my first novel was published, an historical romance titled Shaman. I had worked on the story intermittently for years, so it was rewarding to finally hold the finished product in my hands. Shaman was well-received, readers loved it! Many readers told me, "You have to write a sequel!" It wasn't until the global pandemic that began in 2020 that I wrote The Passage, the sequel to Shaman. The Passage was published in 2022 and has received many positive reviews. I’ve also published an anthology of personal essays titled 7 p.m. (and other essays). I am currently working on Book 3 of the Shaman series.

This is the cover of my award-winning historical fiction novel, Shaman. Shaman won its category (Historical Fiction) and took home the Grand Prize in the 2010 Maryland Writers Association Annual Novel Competition. Shaman was also a finalist in the 2009 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Competition.
This is the cover of my second novel in the historical fiction genre: The Passage. It is the sequel to my first novel, Shaman. The Passage picks up the story where Shaman leaves off.
