About the Artist

I am a self taught multimedia artisan working from my home studio in Bel Air, Maryland. After over 26 years of working in fiber, it was my desire for unique beads and buttons to use in my pieces that brought me to working with porcelain, stoneware, and earthenware clays. I began with creating beads, pendants, and buttons that I use in my handcrafted jewelry and fiber items. I have since expanded my business to include my small hand built items such as bowls, cups and mugs, wall art, garden art, mosaics, chess and backgammon games, and small sculptural pieces. I do not use molds in my work. Each of my one of a kind pieces are created using a pinch method or are slab built, shaped, textured, glazed, and fired by me, in my home studio.

Artist's Statement

I enjoy making one of a kind pieces and find inspiration in nature, antique folk art and children's books illustrations. I recently created 200 one of a kind, custom fish/nature themed wall art tiles to decorate the walls of a facility in Oregon where a non profit organization works with children and families in crisis.
