“Renée told students that music was her way to deal with hardship and adversity [and like Ray Charles]; the arts provided a way for her to cope with challenges like poverty, discrimination, and tragedy. ' Moreover, she said, 'The arts are a great way to cultivate excellence, for the beauty that is found through the arts, translates into life.” – Lisa Mathews, Artist of Milkshake; Host, Young at Heart Radio Show – WTMD, Baltimore

Artist's Statement
As a (vocal) music arts provider, my mission is to introduce children to acoustic music, and to further an appreciation for the American genre of music known as jazz. I do this by sharing the tools and resources which aided me in raising my own son to become a global citizen. I share my experiences as a professional performer and children's songwriter via storytelling through music. To develop the necessary 21st Century skills to assist parents, caregivers, and teachers with strategic methods of communication through music that will engage and inspire early learners. What began by singing melodies to my son when he was a baby, reading books, and through immersing him in age-appropriate media and activities, gave birth to a small mobile music company that I created in 2009 called Kidz MusiQ Club. Kidz MusiQ Club: Jazzing Up Learning, which introduces children (infants to age 10) to music and movement through our Jazzing Up Learning CD of original songs. Our equation: kidz + music + education = Jazzing Up Learning!Booking
