Sensational Royal Lights Quartet (Gospel)

About the Artist

HISTORY OF THE SENSATIONAL ROYAL LIGHTS In a small community known as Cordtown, Maryland, the late Howard and Rena Elliott, parents, brought a group of brothers together and started a quartet known as The Sensational Royal Lights.  The forming of the group was a natural because many years earlier, Howard, the boys’ father, had belonged to a gospel quartet known as the Royal Lights. The brothers who were a part of the original group were Arthur, Palestine, and Frederick. Shortly thereafter, older brother Robert and nephew Tyrome joined the group. Several years later, their brother Leroy and nephews Everett Young and Terrence Jenkins were integrated into the Gospel Ensemble. It was through their parents’ guidance and prayers that the group was able to stay together. They were taught that the most important, centralized, basic requirement if they were going to have success was to always put God first in their lives (Matt. 6:33). They were taught that their singing in the churches and other venues was “not a performance but a ministry” to honor God. Also, their parents instilled in them another key attribute,   the art and practice of “Love for One Another” (John 13:34). For over sixty years, The Sensational Royal Lights have traveled throughout the DelMarVa Peninsula and many other states singing the gospel. They have had some good times, some bad times, some sad times, and many other hills to climb. But they always remembered to keep their hands in God’s hand. The sad times were when four of their members: brothers Arthur, Robert, and Leroy and their nephew Terrence were called home to be with the Lord. These loved ones are now “Singing in the Heavenly Choir.” As a part of their ministry, the group spends time helping churches, individuals, civic organizations, government agencies, and other entities within the various communities across the country. To date, the group has been blessed with four recordings; “We Are The Royal Lights”, “At The Cross”, “Stirring Up My Heart” and their latest recording, “Live From Bangor, Maine”.  The late, Terrence Jenkins was the writer of several of the songs. The Lord has always blessed The Sensational Royal Lights. He continues to “fulfill our every need”.  They are blessed with dynamic musicians who are also “sold out for the Lord”. The group has never forgotten there humble beginnings and the source of all of their blessings. They love to sing and praise the Lord, telling about God’s grace, mercy and His goodness. In other words, they love “Preaching the Gospel through Song.” Currently, there are two original members, Frederick Elliott and Rev. Tyrome Elliott. The newest members are their nephew, Earl Slacum, a devoted man of God, and a very talented young man named Ryan Elliott, Tyrome’s son, who is “on fire for God”. By God’s grace, all members including the musicians are SAVED.  ALL PRAISES TO GOD!
