Warren Wilson

About the Artist

Warren’s photographic journey began over fifty years ago when, just out of high school, he worked for his father’s accident investigation service. By the year’s end, he had joined the U.S. Marine Corps. In the Marines, he was trained as a motion picture/still photographer and did a tour in Vietnam, working out of DaNang. Upon reentering the civilian workforce four years later, he landed a job at National Geographic Society, where he worked as a B&W/digital lab technician, where he would work for the next thirty-five years. Shortly after retiring in late 2004, he bought his first DSLR and joined Bowie-Crofton Camera Club, located in Bowie, Maryland. He has been photographing ever since. He still looks back fondly to the days of film. But, the near-instantaneous results of digital photography has become an addiction that is hard to overcome. Warren now specializes in fine art and pet photography. Currently, he is working on a project dealing with super close-up macro images of the world beneath our feet--insects and plants.
