The mission of the organization is the preservation and advancement of the jazz art form through performance and education. Our objectives are as follows: 1. Preserve Jazz, "America's National Treasure" as an American art form (Voted on and established by the US Congress) 2. Expose the community to new and exciting performing art programs 3. Provide opportunities for education and entertainment to general audiences, musicians, students and other live music enthusiasts 4. Encourage musical collaboration with professional artists and other like-minded organizations regionally, nationally and internationally 5. Focus on the educational, creative and artistic well-being of children and provide role models and opportunities for aspiring artists of all ages
About this Organization
Contemporary Arts Inc. is a nonprofit arts organization. The organization was co-founded in 1997 and became incorporated in the state of Maryland in 2002. The Programs of Contemporary Arts Inc. are: 1. SAX: Music & Dance Camp Program for youth ages 4 - 17 2. The Annual John Coltrane Tribute Concert 3. "An Afternoon of Artistic Excellence" featuring performing recipients of the Baker Artist Awards 4. Jazz for Centers in partnership with the Baltimore County Dept. of Aging/Senior Centers 5. Jazz in the Stacks in partnership with the Enoch Pratt Free Library 6. Free Fall Baltimore featuring local jazz performing ensemblesServices/Opportunities
