About this Organization

The Deer Creek Chorale is a multi-generational choir with over 90 non-auditioned singers from Maryland’s Baltimore & Harford counties and Southern Pennsylvania.  A varied and challenging repertoire encourages vocal technique, musicianship and expression. The Chorale includes a Youth Choir, an Adult Choir (including High School students) a select Chamber Choir and Ebb and Flow, a women's ensemble. The Chorale seeks to develop the potential of singers at all levels of experience. Deer Creek Chorale sings locally and gives globally. Annual charitable projects allow members to engage in the community-at-large by dedicating time and effort to help others. This dual mission makes us unique from other community choirs. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

    "Roots" encompasses our yearning for our heart's home. “This piece was commissioned by us and was to premiere at our November 22nd concert. Special thanks to Mark Van Nostrand and emergency funding from the Maryland State Arts Council for making this virtual choir possible.

    Robert Cohen’s "Alzheimer's Stories," dramatically interprets Dr. Alzheimer's discovery of the disease, shares amusing and moving stories and experiences of patients, and conveys words of comfort and hope for caregivers. Audience members may find some of these experiences to be personally familiar, with a deeper appreciation for the powerful role music plays in summoning memory and connecting patients with their friends and family.

Booking

The Deer Creek Chamber Choir and ladies' ensemble Ebb and Flow perform throughout the year for public and private events. These select choirs perform sacred, secular, and popular music in the combination of your choice. Many concerts are performed according to a theme befitting the audience and venue.
