About this Organization

The Steinway Series at Silo Hill introduces you to a new, hip concert-going experience: down on the farm and in a barn. Dedicated to reinventing the way people experience live classical music, The Music Barn at Silo Hill offers an unparalleled musical experience with its intimate, informal setting, fabulous acoustics, and impressive Steinway grand piano. The barn, situated on 100 acres in Baltimore County’s beautiful horse country, provides one of the region’s most distinctive and beautiful concert venues: a stunning, all-wood post and beam Amish barn, magnificent floor-to-rafter stone fireplace, three-floor silo with an observatory overlooking rolling farmland, and of course—an exquisite Steinway grand. The Music Barn’s intimate and casual atmosphere lets audience members get “up close and personal” with the musical artists during and following the performances. For the artists, the Music Barn is a favorite because it’s unique, fun, and the acoustics are amazing!  It’s unique, casual, intimate and forgoes typical concert-going hassles like uncomfortable attire, parking tickets, confining theatre seats, long lines for a drink or rest room. . . . .The Steinway Series at Silo Hill is hassle free—no parking issues, no long lines, no dressing-up—this is a barn after all! The Steinway Series at Silo Hill presents four concerts each season, featuring international and regional musical artists such as world renowned operatic mezzo soprano Frederica Von Stade and Van Cliburn winner pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi. The Series is committed to presenting regional artists as well, such as Eric Byrd Jazz Trio and piano/percussion ensemble icarus Quartet.
