About this Organization
VisArts is a 501(c)(3) organization located in Rockville, Maryland.
Founded in 1987 as a grassroots organization serving local artists, VisArts has grown significantly since our founding - from a staff of two to nearly 20; from a small garage space to a 25,000 square foot hub of community engagement with classrooms, galleries, and artist studios; and from welcoming 2,500 visitors a year to more than 30,000 annually.
VisArts provides children, teens, and adults from all backgrounds and abilities with opportunities to express their ideas, develop their talents, connect with others, and enrich their lives through art. Our strength lies in our ability to bring individuals together through a shared creative experience, fostering exposure to new perspectives, respect for each other, and a more connected community.
