CHEROKAREE TSALAGI an Indigenous American Textile Artist/Designer born and raised in Baltimore City. He is the Creative Director of Tsalagi and Tsalagi Textiles Studio. A fashion textile business which started shortly after he graduated from Baltimore City College in 2017. He graduated with a 4.3gpa and the IB Diploma of the Visual Arts program. Advocate and Activist in the Arts community standing up for the Indigenous peoples and all peoples alike in the world of human rights, fashion and art.
I am an independent literary artist and author based in Baltimore City. My work centers on lived experience, healing, resilience, and storytelling rooted in truth. Through books and written narratives, I explore personal and community stories that address survival, growth, and empowerment. my practice focuses on creating accessible literary work that reflects real life experiences and support connection, understanding, and healing through the written word.
Josh Brooks is a Baltimore-based artist known for his distinctive approach to figurative painting, where vibrant color, expressive gesture, and a spirit of romantic rebellion converge. Raised in Cold Spring, New York, Brooks was immersed in art from an early age, studying drawing and painting while dedicating much of his youth to competitive hockey. When a severe leg injury abruptly ended his athletic trajectory, he turned to his love of art, finding healing through his artistic practice. This commitment led him to earn a post-baccalaureate degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
Olufunmilayo “Miss Funmi” Sodipo is a Baltimore-based fiber artist and crochet educator working in fiber and craft. Through Fumi Luv’s Crochet Way, she creates accessible crochet works and leads community workshops that emphasize skill-building, creative expression, and inclusive arts participation across diverse age groups.
Pamela Thompson is an interdisciplinary artist whose work examines natural and social systems through sculpture and installation. Her material based work reflects processes of entropy leading to loss, tension, regeneration and transformation.
Nosreme Baltimore is a community-rooted arts organization that builds sustainable and global pathways for local artists through public art, cultural exchange, and place-based development. The organization commissions paid, site-specific public artworks, activates neighborhoods during redevelopment, and provides artists with professional training in public art delivery and consulting. By connecting Baltimore artists to regional and international opportunities, Nosreme works to reverse historical exclusion and foster long-term artist sustainability.
