Fritete African Drumming & Dance Group is an African drum and dance organization that uses performing arts forms such as drumming, dance, storytelling, and literary arts to engage diverse audiences at museums, libraries, schools, community centers, festivals, and other public spaces. Through interactive and culturally enriching experiences, Fritete shares the beauty and traditions of African performing arts in a fun, educational, and impactful learning environment that promotes cultural understanding, creativity, community engagement, and appreciation for diversity.
Wayna is an Ethiopian‑born, Maryland‑based GRAMMY‑nominated singer, songwriter, and storyteller dedicated to using music and performance as vehicles for cultural connection and emotional truth. Her artistic goal is to create experiences that blend soul, R&B, jazz, and world influences with rich narrative and social awareness—bridging her African heritage and American upbringing to spark dialogue about resilience, identity, and belonging.
My name is Jayson Suggs and I am a performing musician and teacher. I received my bachelors and masters in music degree from Morgan State University and have been performing and teaching ever since. My instruments I perform with are drums, bass, and piano/keyboard. I also teach all wind instruments(beginner level), percussion, piano and ukulele. I am very passionate about music and what I can do to contribute to Maryland's music community!

Adwoa is a visual artist and art therapist whose work explores emotional duality, identity, and self-reflection through painting and mixed media. Her practice centers on the idea that multiple truths can exist at once, creating space for both vulnerability and growth. Through layered compositions and intuitive mark-making, she captures the tension between feeling stuck and becoming.
During the 2010s, I had multiple artistic periods that introduced me to online platforms made to share creativity. My passion for animation is strongly influenced by amateur 2D/3D short films on YouTube, thus motivating me to create videos of my own. While
attending UMBC, I dedicated my time to studying digital and traditional mediums to further advance my skills, but ultimately centered my practice around physical mediums.
