Senator Richard S. Madaleno, Jr.
Richard Madaleno represents Maryland’s 18th Legislative District (which includes Kensington, Wheaton, and Chevy Chase, as well as parts of Silver Spring, Rockville, and Bethesda) in the Maryland State Senate. He is currently serving his second term in the State Senate (elected in 2006 and 2010), having first been elected in 2002 to serve a four year term in the House of Delegates. Senator Madaleno is considered an expert on the state’s budget and fiscal policy. He currently serves on the Senate’s Budget and Taxation Committee, and is Chairman of its Education, Business and Administration Subcommittee.
Rich grew up in Silver Spring. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in public administration. He now lives in Kensington with his partner, daughter and son.
