About the Artist

Akira King was born and raised in Prince George's County Maryland. He has always had a passion for art since he was a little boy watching cartoons and has always expressed himself in some form of art throughout his life. In 2016, Akira started to pursue his art full-time by creating original portrait art. Akira uses acrylic paint on canvas to bring his original art to life. His style of black and grey with pops of color is truly an eye-catching and mesmerizing sight. Societial issues, pop culture, live events, and his imagination inspire him and his art. Most of his time is spent completing commissioned art requested by various clients or building his portfolio and brand. One of his favorite words to live by are "Dreams are only dreams when you are sleep".
