About the Artist

Alexis North, began her dance career at Marcellus Dance Studio where she learned the foundation of ballet, modern, jazz, African, and hip hop. She later attended Suitland High School for the Visual and Performing Arts which directly influenced her love for choreographing and directing. She graduated from Morgan State University in 2018, with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology which strengthened her creative processes as she further understood the human mind and processes of behavior. In 2019, she won the 36th Annual Choreographers Showcase held at the University of Maryland, College Park by sharing a piece entitled, Strange Fruit; Matthew 2016. From sculpting award winning choreography to developing and training aspiring artist, she prides herself in producing quality over quantity in anything she produces. Providing safe spaces and creating memorable art for the community to heal through is her main mission of being an Artist.
