Almira Léonché (Fashion Artist)
In March of 2006, the Fashion House of Léonché, (pronounced “lay-on-shay”) was created by Almira Wilson; 1st generation Sierra Leonean- American born in Washington, DC. On May 3, 2019, as a Resident Designer of the DC Fashion Incubator at Macy’s, Léonché’s Rose Collection was featured in the Smithsonian of African Arts, inspired by their Good As Gold Exhibit. In addition she completed her residency program as a Fashion Artist /TV Host under the 202 Creates Program, (OCTFME) in September of 2018 .
Fashion Artist Almira Léonché has created a new trend to inspire fashionista’s, to build their confidence, in creating 3d fashion gowns on a painter’s canvas. Each individual has the option to select from a wide range of international fabrics. Canvas Runway is a great new piece of art to accent any wall or room.
Under Almira’s, Second Chance Fashion 501c3, God has led her to create a Fashion Stem Vocational/Apprenticeship program for Young Adults and Women who want to find their gifts/talents in the Fashion Industry in Sierra Leone.
