Andrei Kushnir is a Maryland artist who seeks to create works that serve to memorialize the period of time in which the artist lives, and to capture the feeling(s) of what it means to be alive. The key to Kushnir's work lies in his emphasis of painting from life, "en plein air."

About the Artist

Andrei Kushnir, a plein air painter, has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States. He is an elected signature member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, and the Salmagundi Club, NYC, an official US Coast Guard Official Artist, and member of Oil Painters of America.  His work is in the public collections of the US Coast Guard, D.C. Commission on Arts and Humanities, University of Maryland Global Campus, South Florida State College Museum of Florida’s Art & Culture, the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, the University Club of Washington, D.C. and in numerous private collections around the world.  He is the founder of the Potomac River School artists, and the Owner of American Painting Fine Art, Washington, D.C.  He is the author of 8 books of his work, including Oh, Shenandoah, George F. Booking Price: $1,001-$2,000

The Artist manages his own presentation tours, thus insuring that correct understanding that the goal of each presentation is accomplished, all details are adhered to, and commitments kept. Contact the Artist by phone: 202-244-3244, or by e-mail: andreikushnir@gmail.com. The sponsoring organization or representative must provide 1. Contact name and phone number; 2. the exact site address; 3. the dates and times of the proposed presentation; 4. acknowledgement that the presentation space or setting has obtained all necessary permits, licenses and approvals, and all fees, rent, costs for the performance spaces have been paid; 5. identify the fee amount to be paid the Artist, with confirmation that the Artist will receive one half of the fee upon his signing of the presentation contract, which will be provided by the Artist and include the relevant details provided in this section. 6. if the presentation is more than 100 miles from the Artist's residence, the sponsor may be asked to provide appropriate lodging within 5 miles of the site of the presentation, , in addition to the Artist's fee, to included all charges for a single nigths stay, including any parking charges for a single occupancy. 7. The artist will provide his own transportation to and from the presentation site.

A single microphone set up is required. A computer hooked up to a large screen is required to display the images of the Artist's works. Three easels are needed to display actual paintings by the Artist. The easels should be large enough to hold framed paintings measuring approx. 24" x 30" although some paintings will be smaller. A small classroom sized environment is sufficient; however, the Artist has given presentations in assembly halls and theaters. The Artist will coordinate with a representative of the organization re the spaces, schedule and set up. Performances last 1 to 2 1/2 hours, followed by question and answer opportunities.

The Artist will travel by his own automobile to any location in the State of Maryland. Any location beyond 100 miles from Bethesda, MD may require an overnight stay by the artist; see above Booking Details section. Overnight stays may be required in such circumstances to avoid night time driving.
