Andrew Horgan

About the Artist

Andy Horgan lives and works in his Wilmington Delaware studio. Knowing from a young age that being an artist was his journey, he pursued many mediums of expression starting with photography. As a military photojournalist, Andy mastered the use of light and shadow with the goal of capturing real expressions and true stories in just one image. This quickly became a new path in his artistic journey, one that continues today. Discovering the Ash Can School of Art, and studying the realism and muted tones of this style spoke to his pursuit of capturing the dignity of the human experience and the beauty in the ordinary. As an artist, he uses and expands on these techniques in his paintings, drawings and sculptures.
