About the Artist

I have worn many hats in my life, but currently I am working as a mother, farmer, and artist. Whenever I don't have a paintbrush in my hand I can usually be found playing outside with my children, weeding the garden, or rounding up chickens that interpret the term ‘free range’ too literally. I have done quite a few 'home portraits' of both contemporary and historic homes in Western Maryland, including Terra Angelica and Evergreen Estates. I also love painting landscapes, my neighbor's cows, garden produce, and my kids.

This is a late afternoon view from my far pasture after a winter rain storm had just passed. The air was still full of haze, and it gave a golden glow to everything. It is painted on a slim wooden panel and has almost metallic hues of bronze, gold and steel gray.
Allegany County, in the mountainous end of Maryland, is a beautiful spot for sunsets. I was fortunate enough to get a photo of this one at the end of a beautiful late-summer day in September.
Calvert Cliffs State Park is a beautiful area on the Chesapeake Bay. There are woods, creeks, wetlands, the eponymous cliffs, and a gorgeous beach for fossil hunting. This painting is a serene reminder of my visit there on a hot summer day.
Once in a while the beach at Ocean City will hold a long, narrow tidepool for house after the high tide. I painted this one just after sunset, with the lights of the city reflecting in the water.
There is always a friendly greeting at Famous Coney Island Weiners in Cumberland, Maryland. The restaurant hasn't changed in fifty years!
