About the Artist

The award-winning Baltimore Brass was founded in 2000 and is one of Maryland’s longest continuously operating professional brass ensembles. The group specializes in the performance of classical and contemporary repertoire designed to appeal to the young and the young at heart. In 2021 they were nominated for the Wammy Awards Educator of the Year. The ensemble was voted Best Chamber Music Ensemble in Maryland by Music Monthly Magazine and was recognized as the official brass ensemble of the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. The Baltimore Brass also received numerous state and governmental citations and proclamations for their contributions to the arts in Maryland. Their recordings are available on all major digital music distribution outlets. In addition to their busy performance schedules, the members of the Baltimore Brass are also seasoned music educators and are passionate about performing live educational programs.

For live programs, the Baltimore Brass requires a large space such as a gymnasium or cafeteria with a walkway along the sides and down the center. We also require one microphone and PA. If a microphone and PA is not available, one may be provided for an additional fee. Finally, please ensure there are no interruptions during the program (bells, announcements, etc.).

For both synchronous and asynchronous virtual programs, this assembly requires a video platform provided by the school that the students understand and know how to access and navigate. This platform should be accessible to the Baltimore Brass’ technical staff for streaming. The Baltimore Brass will require a short (five minute) technical rehearsal with the school at least two days prior to the program to ensure smooth sailing. This will give everyone enough time to fix any unexpected issues that may arise.
