About the Artist

In my daily work as both an ergonomist, and Occupational Health Nurse  I have a sketched out education anatomy and corrected anatomical postures or ergonomically correct workstations for many years.     Drawing from a science background gives me a different perspective, an altered artistic view of the world.  I found my artist's voice in structures and shapes beginning and watercolours and moving towards other mediums and a more abstract view,  Painting connects me and allows me to communicate in a completely different way than ergonomics and the healthcare field does.  It lets my right brain meet the left brain.    I find myself attracted to what I see everyday. Using a portion of an object to represent the whole or finding the beauty in everyday objects; a teapot or a scene I drive past everyday.  Gestalt images allow me to express the science of art, seeing beauty in the mundane lets me use the creative side on my mind.  I use transparent watercolors as a starting point, acrylics adding opaque paints, ink, or using alternate surfaces like Braille paper, medical tools and whatever works to strengthen my view.
