My art functions as a visual diary; I record a dramatized version of my experiences then throw it on a canvas. I primarily work in ink and watercolor as it allows a broad range of control: I can make little fine dainty strokes to a large wash of color. Most of my work remains black and white or monotone, prioritizing contrast. Other times, I work more loosely in oil paint and use the medium’s slow drying time to play with glazing and building layers. In all my work, whether it be a watery underpainting or a ghostly pencil outline, I begin loose sketches then I gradually add more specification while growing more controlled as a piece progresses. I take much of my inspiration from nature such as the swirl of a vine, the delicate petals of flowers, and the natural coils of curly hair.
About the Artist
Hello there! I am an illustrator based in Baltimore with an intense passion for fantasy, romance, and decor. I draw influences from fairy tales and I merge my personal experiences with these larger-than-life stories to create something beautiful.Featured Work
