"Creating art is almost a spiritual experience, as though there is a greater Being doing the work" - Piet Mondrian.

About the Artist

Brandon Richardson (Mr. Rich) is a multidiscipline visual artist based in the DMV area. Drawing and painting has always brought joy to Mr. Rich since he could hold a pencil. The design of cartoons, sports logos and sneakers often inspire the murals that Mr. Rich has developed throughout his career. His work can be seen in various schools and public spaces throughout the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. and the surrounding area. This passion for art combined with his love for teaching allowed him to create the Speak With Your Feet Design Lab.(SDL)  The SDL was developed in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in response to the social unrest palpable throughout 2020. Each workshop is uniquely curated to reflect the social topics and interest of the participants. Mr. Rich's creative space provides each student an opportunity to express themselves on traditional canvases and wearable products such as shoes, shirts and hats. Mr. Rich understands that art can be a catalyst for violence prevention, intervention and mindfulness. SWYF Design Lab inspires to "Be the change you want to see in the world."
