Artist's Statement

I am an interdisciplinary designer/artist/activist in Baltimore, MD. My work is primarily cause-related and community work. For 7 years, I have been the sole proprietor of a freelance graphic design business, Full Circuit Studio and Baltimore Trash Talk (BTT), a citizen-run anti-trash initiative. Through BTT, I run a grant-funded educational program that offers free presentations to Baltimore schools. I address the problems and solutions connected with litter, one-use plastics and water pollution. I regularly partner with governmental and non-governmental organizations, non-profits and fellow artists on projects that bring attention to environmental issues. I hold a MFA in ceramic sculpture and a BFA in graphic design, with minors in creative writing and literature-all of which surface in my work. My projects often include concepting, copy writing and creation of custom imagery. I create print and web graphics, campaigns, installations and most recently, wearable art jewelry. I am regularly asked to speak about trash and sustainability issues and my recent endeavors in metalsmithing have resulted in scholarships at Baltimore Jewelry Center and most recently, Penland School of Crafts.
