Carmen Martini

About the Artist

Carmen Martini is a Spanish born artist currently based in Baltimore, MD. Her love for the fine arts comes from her grandmother, who greatly influenced her to look into art from a different perspective since an early age.   She taught herself how to paint by observing works from her favorite artists. Even though her first paintings were done in 2011, it wasn't until 2016 when she started painting regularly and decided to submit some of her work. In 2016 she started working on her BURLAP SERIES project where she uses raw burlap to create paintings. She was part of the IMPACT and UNDER 500 shows curated by Maryland Art Place (MAP) and had her first solo exhibition in 2016. This year she participated in the OUT OF ORDER show by MAP and was the winner of “Creating Connections”, a call by CyberWIre and MAP, where her artwork “Global”, was made into 160 prints. Her recent works appears on www.afive.co.uk - A Five Portfolio June #27 2019 magazine issue and on https://www.averageart.co.uk - Average Art July 2019 magazine issue. Carmen holds a GPD in Violin Performance by Peabody Conservatory of the JHU and a Graduate Business Certificate by the University of Baltimore and is an avid photographer. Some of her work appears on her website www.carmenmartini.com and you can find some of her pictures on her Instagram account @thoseamazingdays and @carmen_martini.
