What I love about abstraction is that it allows you to imagine.. It is a rich tapestry of possibilities. It is not a mystery. It is an act of discovery. My work reflects my experiences of things known and unknown. The shifting of light and shadows during the change of each season streaming in three large windows on the south side of my studio located in an old textile mill has strongly influenced my recent work. Light is at the core of who we are and how we understand ourselves. It distinguishes one thing from another. The figural form in my previous body of work has given way to this latent observation of light phenomenon. My range of color is increasing though still muted. My interest is in reducing color and imagery to the deepest, truest nature of painting and keeping its expressive power.Featured Work
