Artist's Statement

I enjoy endless hours of stringing beads while playing with color and texture. Often times I arrive at the finished piece through many turns of trial and error, thinking I want one something and finding no, that's not right, let me try somthing else. Sometimes instinct plays a great role particularly if I am drawn to a certain color. At other times I see an object with colors that I just can't get out of my mind. When I try to apply those colors to my design, it just might be that they work with some tweaking on my part. More than likely, I have a particular person in mind that I imagine wearing my designs. I spent many years as a black and white fine art photographer and could never consider shooting in color. Such a pleasant surprise it is to now find myself surrounded by lush hues. Yes, COLOR matters.
