Artist's Statement
My work is about making marks. The medium is fabric and I use a variety of surface design processes to capture the movement of my hands. The fabrics are dyed and painted, cut apart and stitched together until I have assembled a huge variety of fabrics. Assembled with a batt and backing fabric, these layers are stitched together to create a texture that is further emphasized with dry brush painting. The finished piece has the characteristics of a quilt but the sensibilities of fine art.Featured Work
