Art is a second religion to me -- I have no idea where I would be without it. Being able to express my innermost thoughts and perspective on life is what drives me. What really feeds my soul is creating pieces that connect with the viewer emotionally. It’s not because they may like the colors I used, or the painting may go well with their home or office décor, but because one of my pieces may have lead the viewer to a place, feeling, or time in their life, bad or good, that they stored away in the subconscious depths of their mind. That is why I incorporate something so beautiful as the human anatomy in each of my paintings. Whether it’s a hand, the lips, a face, or a back, they all have a story to tell. Detailing is very important to me when I am painting, and I feel when using oil paint it gives me more than enough time to incorporate that. I believe the viewer should understand what they are looking at -- an emotional connection is the foundation of my creativity, and that’s the goal that I’ve set for all my work.Featured Work

Self-Surrender
Oil Paint on Canvas
2017
His life may not be terrible, but something has been missing for a long time. As the years go on, a dark cloud begins to surround him. Yet while dark, the cloud comforts him -- in a strange way, the cloud becomes a part of him. Comfort doesn’t always mean happiness, because happiness is a separate entity all it’s own.
He has made his choice -- and it wasn’t an easy one. By doing so, he has come to realize that his path was simply waiting for him all along. There is no time limit on something that is meant for you; he just had to step outside of his comfortable dark cloud and self-surrender.
Red Road
Oil Paint on Canvas
2017
This piece is inspired by a dream. In this dream, my father was speaking with someone about a red road, and mentioned how amazing it was. Upon waking, I couldn’t understand why he was talking about this red road. Unable to forget about this dream, I simply had to research it. In my studies, I then found a connection with Native American spiritual teachings.
For this piece, I wanted a female warrior with strength and beauty. Her path is already set, and she’s excited to walk this road that has been stained by the blood of a spiritual leader - a leader who had carried the sins of all. She prays to the moon at night, and to the sun in the morning. She believes that is the gateway to communicating with the Creator, since the Creator’s power and divine nature can clearly be seen. It’s not going to be an easy road to travel, because many may not understand -- but she knows the challenges ahead. This warrior is ready to walk the Red Road.
Making A Choice
Oil Paint on Wood Panel
2017
Whether you are religious, spiritual, both, or neither, everyone comes to a crossroad in their life. I’ve definitely came to many throughout my life, and I’m sure there are more to come. I am not a devout person, but I do believe in a much higher power; greater than us. I believe that no matter how cloudy the day may be, that power will always find a way to guide us - but only if we choose to be guided. In this painting there are no landmarks, no animals, no trees scattered about. It’s just you, the sky above, the grass below, a crossroad, and your beliefs to guide you. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed painting it.
Whatever your crossroads may be in life, remember you can always Make A Choice.
Looking Forward to Life
Oil Paint on Canvas
2016
Out in the desert -- with nothing but the sand and the sky surrounding him -- there is a glow in his eyes. He sees something that can change his life, but he is the only one that needs to see it. In the world that we are living in, with everyone publicizing their every move, sometimes it's good to keep some things that excite us a little private. The only thing this guy wants you to know is that there is something very promising out there.
Serenity
Oil Paint on wood panel
2017
For this piece, I didn’t want to have a story behind it -- I simply wanted this painting to speak to the viewer’s own perspective and story. This
painting has overtones of several things: strength, beauty, faith, vulnerability, and serenity. This is only the beginning for her.
