About the Artist

My professional experience consists of 30+ years as a theatre professor teaching all theatre subjects to include technical theatre.  Having taught at various universities to include Morgan State, UMCP, UMBC, Howard Community College, Old Dominion University, University of Ghana, and the University of Nairobi, Kenya. In 2011 I created, developed and received accreditation for a BFA Fine Arts Department at Virginia Union University. Once accreditation was received, I became the Chair of the department. My personal experience includes directing, lighting and sound designer, and theatre consultant.  My work has taken me to various parts of the US, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Kenya and Ghana. Since 2017 I have been a teaching artist with the Educational Theatre Association.  With EdTA I have developed workshops, curriculums, units, lesson plans, webinars and major projects. I am currently a board member of EdTA. My work also includes working with Baltimore City Police Department as a Civilian Trial Board member.  This work allows me to ensure that equity and social justice are not only in the arts but the police department as well as our communities.
