About the Artist

1961-  Born in Annapolis MD  1961-1983 -  Raised between Annapolis MD and Pittsburgh,  PA.  Started painting in elementary school and liked it  1983 -   Received a BFA in painting from MD Institute, , magna cum laude 1983-1987  -Worked in two different sign shops   1987 - Started "Fletcher Art studio" in 1988, offering custom lettering, commissioned oil paintings and murals 1988-1990 - Worked part time for Niermann Weeks furniture compnay learning various forms of faux painting 1990 - Added "Faux Painting" to Fletcher Art services !990 - Went full time  Fletcher Art 1990-2011  -Painted names on approximately 90% of  boats  in the Annapolis and surrounding Chesapeake Bay area 1995-2011 - Painted various custom murals throughout Annapolis and Anne Arundel County 2011-2013 - Sailed to Europe, Africa, Caribbean and back 2012 -  Painted several murals in Spain, Portugal,  and Madeira  2013-2014- Tried to clean my aunt's house 2014 - Present -  Currently  painting  murals for Starbucks throughout the midatlantic  

Artist's Statement

. While I paint murals for clients, I continue to paint in my studio, and intend to consistently progress forward in technique and vision.
