Artist's Statement
Claire uses satire to respond to the ways we navigate contemporary lifestyles, often focusing on domestic subject matter and aesthetics. Her gestural style contributes to the character development of the subject matter in her paintings. She also maintains a strong interest in performative art objects; made to assimilate, functionally and visually, into everyday environments and propose new solutions to routine action. Claire values comedy in all variations of her work.
