About the Artist

Charles Lunn (c.l. lunn) is a non-speaking autistic artist and poet based in Bethesda, Maryland. Working through letterboard communication with the support of a trained communication partner, Charles crafts vivid abstract paintings and deeply expressive poetry—transforming silence into powerful artistic expression. His creative process bridges visual art and written word, each painting often paired with original poems that reflect his perspective on emotion, identity, and the human experience. Charles’s debut solo exhibition, Nonsense & Hopeful Songs: My Inner Fight To Be Heard, premiered at Lost Origins Gallery in Washington, D.C., alongside the release of his first book by the same name. Through bold color, layered texture, and lyrical introspection, Charles challenges assumptions about voice, autonomy, and neurodiversity—inviting viewers to see beyond behavior and into the depth of an unseen world.
