About the Artist

I begin my work on a granular level to rebelliously find within myself the rough and the unsocialized facts of my own fears and human nature to embrace, hug, kiss, and bring to the surface of my work by creating a partnership with the piece I am courting. I enter into a piece through a process of POV, where I use extreme empathy and journaling to discover what the piece means to me on a deeper and more intimate level which I then begin to use to inform my directorial vision and choices for the work by warping and elevating each moment to allow the audience to experience the journey just as much as the performers. In my work, I aim for a sense of… The grand: A grounded operatic sense that turns on the experience for the audience and keeps them captured throughout. Strong and bold movements allow for a deeper connection between the performers, the architecture, and the audience.  The eclectic: I work on pieces individually and moment by moment. I aim to direct with my heart on my sleeve which leads to big style shifts as my work naturally progresses. And the ferocious: I believe the performance space should be a fierce and fun battleground of people fighting for enlightenment within their heightened life.  To achieve the grand, the eclectic, and the ferocious in the journey and space I will forever work through kindness, generosity, and specificity. I hope to create a friend with the audience by revealing these intimate truths about myself as they venture out of the experience and have them leave reflecting with a smile in their heart in hope to learn more about themselves.
