Artist's Statement

My interests are in the sublime nature of vision and the structure of compositional elements. The confining of a scene to a rhythmic structured order, similar to a stanza of music. A harmony of natural elements. In this body of work, I embrace the artifice of using multiple vantage points, composited together to defeat the limitations of perspective. In this way, I create a sort of photographic scroll of time, revealing not time elapsing, but form unfolding. I am attempting to challenge photography in order to reveal structure and the essence of perception. The extreme aspect ratio of the photographs allows me to expose the continuous way we perceive our environments extending beyond the limitations of the single vantage point.
