About the Artist
Based in Arnold Maryland, transnational fusion dancer, Della Sztuk found herself in the performance art space by way of accepting an invitation to attend a belly dance class in Greensboro, NC in 2005. Ever since, she has continued to study the traditional dances and music of the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, and their contemporary off-shoots, in addition to the dances of her own Pacific Islands heritage.
As a lifelong student of traditional, cultural arts from around the globe Della is inspired by themes of interconnectivity and power of community encoded in those lessons. She endeavors to demonstrate the idea that dance, art and joy are for every body and best enjoyed when shared with other people, any time she has an audience.
Della is recognized for her improvisational dance accompaniment to live music, having a talent for wordlessly colluding with the band and beguiling the audience to join them on a musical journey.
