About the Artist
Denise Joyal’s work focuses on functional forms inspired by the interplay of light and shadow, and features illustrated mishima and underglaze designs. Atmospheric firing creates surface variation using oxides inherent in the clay for coloration. Joyal soda or wood-fires the majority of her work.
