About the Artist
Eddy Leonel Aldana (b. 1995) is a photographer and artist from Germantown, Maryland. He is a first generation Guatemalan-American and is currently based out of Lincoln, Nebraska where he is currently pursuing his MFA in Photography at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He graduated from the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University in 2017 with his BFA in Fine Art Photography. His work is based around the memory of his late father, the acceptance and denial of his passing and the attachment to the memories he has of him. The ideas of home and family have also been common themes throughout his work and in his photographic process. He has exhibited online at Cumulus Photo, La Horchata Zine and Strant Magazine among others. He has also exhibited works at the Frederic Jameson Gallery at Duke University, Strathmore Mansion in Bethesda, Maryland, the Corcoran Gallery of Art and Gallery 102 at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
