My body of work is made up of one of a kind pieces that are meant to expand the imagination of the wearer and are meant for every Body. I source silver and stones from reputable suppliers and work with recycled materials as much as possible. Wood is a material I meditate on through three dimensional and two dimensional realms. The illustrations and the sculptures act as personal studies of the movement of the grain and the flow of the organic material. The wood in my jewelry is an effigy to the natural world, paired with ancient stones or on its own. The wood is bare, its grain, the record keeper of time passed, is revealed, absolved from finishing coats that mask its inner essence. It is raw and exposed.
About the Artist
I grew up on a farm in Western Maryland. Living in a rural environment brought me to learn from and appreciate nature. The outdoors was and still remains my preferred classroom. My sourcing for inspiration is somewhat similar to how I source my materials. I will look to my immediate surrounding environment: the flora, the animals, the people, the landscape; and I will reach out to cultures and environments from around the world.Featured Work
