About the Artist
I am a painter of landscapes in oil along with portraits and figure studies in graphite. I typically work from my own photography, and I seek to capture the essence of the image. I received my BFA in Fine Arts at York University, after having previously attended the studio program for 2 years at the Philadelphia College of Art. I have subsequently taken painting courses with Dean Fisher, Alyssa Monks, and an on-line, evening class at the New York Academy of Art with Zane York. My work is in private collections in Denmark, Spain, Iceland, and the US.

Artist's Statement
I am a painter of landscapes in oil along with portraits and figure studies in graphite. My passion for landscapes springs from images I capture in photography on trips to Iceland. There, the raw, austere beauty of the terrain provides unique and dazzling inspiration. My goal is to capture the essence of these scenes, while allowing the beauty of oil paint and mark-making to thrive in the compositions as well. I have a one-woman show of my Icelandic landscapes at New York Artists Equity this coming October 2021.

My work has been featured in over 20 juried exhibits in the last 2 years.
