About the Artist

Ann Wheeler, Driftwood Artist, I transform natural driftwood into beautiful and functional art for home interior and outdoor décor. Each piece is customized and finished by hand. My artwork includes driftwood designs by hand, etched glass, photos of wildlife, and outdoor decorative designs. I can customize a piece of driftwood or etch glass, for a special one-of-a-kind look. I get my inspiration from the wildlife, and waters of Whites Neck Creek, Potomac, and Chesapeake Bay in St. Mary’s County, MD. I have been a resident of St. Mary’s County, MD for over 20 years, and I was inspired by the beauty of the water, wildlife, and woods to begin making designs out of natural driftwood and other natural materials. In July 2023. I participated in the St. Mary’s County Arts Council’s “Wonders of the Sea” and “All About the Ducks”. I like to design and make driftwood art for outdoors and indoors. I have centerpieces that I have made from driftwood with edged glass candle holders. I can make any design you wish. The piece on my main page is called Lighthouse and it is sealed for outside use. All my pieces are sealed for inside or outdoor use. I enjoy supporting the local Fire Departments, Rescue, and local businesses in St. Mary’s County, MD, by donating some of my work for their fundraising. The name comes from my rescue dog Misty. I do have a disability and working with driftwood helps with copying with it. My studio in Bushwood, MD is open by appointment.  Pick-up is available.
